13,000th Educator Trained on Echoes and Reflections

More than 13,000 pre-service and in-service educators and community leaders have been trained on Echoes and Reflections, a multimedia curriculum on the Holocaust created by the the Anti-Defamation League, the USC Shoah Foundation Institute, and Yad Vashem. The first official training session took place in 2005.  Since that time, the curriculum has reached more than 1.5 million students in the United States, Canada, and Israel.

Rich with testimony clips from 51 Holocaust survivors, rescuers, and American liberators, and seamlessly integrated into 10 multi-part lessons, Echoes and Reflections explores major themes associated with the Holocaust. Developed for educators of students ages 14 and up, the curriculum covers topics that include anti-Semitism, Nazi Germany, the ghettos, the Final Solution, and resistance. Echoes and Reflections supports the study of world history, English/language arts, and character education. The National Association for Multicultural Education (NAME) selected Echoes and Reflections for its 2007 National Media Award.
