Wolf Gruner Becomes First Senior Fellow

USC Professor Researching Forms of Jewish Defiance

The USC Shoah Foundation Institute has appointed Wolf Gruner, Shapell-Guerin Chair in Jewish Studies and Professor of History in the USC Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, as its inaugural Senior Fellow.

The Senior Fellows Program welcomes leading scholars to contribute to the intellectual life of the Institute through research, publication, lecturing, and serving as a scholarly advisor on the Institute’s academic outreach, research, and pedagogical initiatives. Gruner’s appointment, which covers this fall semester, will enable him to analyze English- and German-language testimony to research acts of individual Jewish defiance in Nazi Germany (read his related article in the Spring 2011 issue of PastForward).
