June Schindler’s List Screenings Benefit USC Shoah Foundation

Cinemark will hold special screenings of Schindler’s List, with all proceeds benefiting the USC Shoah Foundation—the Institute for Visual History and Education that the film inspired. The screenings are part of Cinemark’s Classic Series highlighting some of filmmaker Steven Spielberg’s most enduring works. The series began June 2, 2013, and will also include showings of Jaws, Raiders of the Lost Ark and E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial.

Participating Cinemark theatres will screen Schindler’s List on Sunday, June 23 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and on Wednesday, June 26, at 2 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Locations can be found at www.cinemark.com. These showings offer the only opportunity to see this historic, Academy Award-winning film in commercial cinemas during 2013. However, USC Shoah Foundation will hold a limited number of benefit screenings in the fall as part of its 20^th anniversary commemoration.

Steven Spielberg founded the USC Shoah Foundation in 1994 as the result of his experiences in bringing the story of Oskar Schindler and those he saved to the screen. Today, the Institute features nearly 52,000 video records of eyewitness testimonies about the Holocaust and other genocides.
