Head of Holocaust and Genocide Studies at the University of Amsterdam visits USC Shoah Foundation
USC Shoah Foundation was visited Friday by Dr. Nanci Adler, head of the Holocaust and Genocide Studies program at the University of Amsterdam.
Dr. Adler visited the USC Shoah Foundation to meet with managing director Kim Simon, director of research and documentation Karen Jungblut and other colleagues to learn more about the research, access, and education activities of the Institute at USC and around the world, the online platforms and channels the Institute has developed to reach educators, scholars, institutions, and to discuss mutual partnerships and work around peace building, teaching, and learning at the secondary and tertiary level with Kigali Genocide Memorial Center, Aegis Trust, and other partners in Rwanda.
Dr. Adler, who has been with the program since 2003, has focused her research in Russian and European Studies in addition to overseeing the Institute for Holocaust and Genocide Studies. She currently teaches courses in the Holocaust and Genocide Studies program of the History department of the University of Amsterdam in transitional justice, the Soviet terror, the legacy of Communism, oral history, and memory.
