IWitness Video Challenge Webinar for Educators on Jan. 15
Educators who are planning to assign the IWitness Video Challenge to their students this year are invited to attend a free webinar on Thurs., Jan. 15 at 4 p.m. PST. The webinar will provide instructions and helpful tips for implementing the assignment and submitting students’ entries to the contest.
To RSVP for the webinar and receive login information, email iwitness@usc.edu.
The second annual IWitness Video Challenge follows last year's highly successful inaugural challenge. Many students were inspired by testimony to produce positive values in their communities – they fed the hungry, worked to bring an end to violence in their schools, and fought social injustice.
IWitness invites teachers (US & Canada) and their secondary students to participate in the Challenge. Students learn from first-person views of history and they produce a 1-4 min. video essay to link their own voices to those in the archive. The Challenge is inspired by the legacy of Oskar Schindler, who exemplified how one person can make a difference. We invite you to help your students continue to act on this legacy.
The submissions deadline is May 8, 2015. Click here for more information.
