Two-Part Echoes and Reflections Webinar Wed., August 5
USC Shoah Foundation Senior Education Specialist and Trainer Lesly Culp will lead the first session of a two-part webinar on Echoes and Reflection Wednesday, August 5; educators can sign up here.
In this two-part webinar, participants will be introduced to Echoes and Reflections pedagogy and content, as well as explore IWitness intersections to reinforce learning with students.
Echoes and Reflections combines the resources and competencies of three world leaders in education―the Anti-Defamation League’s experience in curriculum and professional development, access to USC Shoah Foundation’s Visual History Archive of survivor and witness testimonies and digital educational tools, and Yad Vashem’s historical expertise and primary source materials―resulting in the most comprehensive Holocaust education program available.
Part 1 is August 5 at 4 p.m. PST/7 p.m. EST. Culp will moderate this online session. Participants will be introduced to and engage with Echoes and Reflections pedagogy and best practices for teaching the Holocaust, the content of the Teacher’s Resource Guide and the supporting multimedia components, including visual history testimonies selected and integrated with each lesson.
Part 2 is not moderated. At their own pace, participants will explore a lesson in the Teacher’s Resource Guide through analysis, reflection and web-based discussion. Strategies for integrating IWitness to support and extend Echoes and Reflections will also be a focus. The completion window for Part 2 is August 6 – August 26, 2015 and should take about 90 minutes to complete.
Participants who would like additional help can attend an optional moderated webinar Wed., August 12 at 4 p.m. PST/7 p.m. EST (one hour). The webinar will include guided live discussion and technical support.
