Application Open for Advanced “Echoes and Reflections” Seminar at USC Shoah Foundation

USC Shoah Foundation is searching for Echoes and Reflections-trained educators who are passionate about teaching, interested in creating IWitness lessons and dedicated to impacting student learning to participate in a seminar on July 13, 2016, in Los Angeles.

Designed for up to 15 teachers, this seminar will, through the lens of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights—its inception, adaptation, and impact—extend Echoes & Reflections Teacher's Resource Guide Lessons and work to deepen participant knowledge of the topic through testimony and other IWitness resources. Participants will be guided through the process for developing IWitness activities and other multimedia resources in a collegial and supportive environment.

Participants will be expected to create curriculum to extend Echoes and Reflections lessons using IWitness.

Candidates will be chosen based on the following criteria:

• Hold a current teaching position in 6^th - 12^th grade.
• Have completed a three (3) to six (6) hour Echoes and Reflections program.
• Subject area expertise in the humanities, science, media studies and related areas
• Digital skills
• Teach in a Southern California school district

The program date is July 13, 2016, at the USC Shoah Foundation office in Los Angeles. Parking and meals will be covered by the Institute at the rates set in University policy.

Interested educators must complete the application by June 6. Notice of status will be sent to applicants by June 10, and accepted applicants must confirm their participation in the program by June 17.
