USC Shoah Foundation is opening its doors to University of Southern California students and families at Trojan Family Weekend October 6 and 7.

The exhibit “Exploring Visual History: USC Shoah Foundation – The Institute for Visual History and Education” will be open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday in Doheny Memorial Library’s Herklotz Room G28.

Visitors can search the Visual History Archive at computer workstations with the help of Institute staff and learn more about USC Shoah Foundation’s work in education and research around the world. In past years, families have found relatives’ testimonies in the Visual History Archive. Others are simply curious about USC Shoah Foundation and are fascinated to search the archive for the first time and learn about new and upcoming projects.

This year, for the first time ever, Trojan Family Weekend visitors will also be able to experience New Dimensions in Testimony, USC Shoah Foundation’s award-winning project that allows people to have a virtual conversation with Holocaust survivor Pinchas Gutter. Visitors can ask the virtual image of Gutter questions about his life before, during and after the Holocaust and he will answer in real time.

New Dimensions in Testimony has been displayed at United States Holocaust Memroial Museum, Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center, Sheffield Doc/Fest, and, currently, the Future of Storytelling festival in New York City.

Trojan Family Weekend is an annual event for USC students and their families. Guests can attend lectures, sporting events, tailgates, concerts, informational exhibits and more.
