Celebrate Digital Learning Day with USC Shoah Foundation
If you would like to observe Digital Learning Day on Thursday, February 23, USC Shoah Foundation is here to help.
Started in 2012, Digital Learning Day encourages education leaders to highlight great teaching practice and showcase innovative teachers, leaders, and instructional technology programs that are improving student outcomes. Digital Learning Day celebrates innovative teaching and learning through digital media and technology that engages students and provides them with a rich, personalized educational experience.
To celebrate this year’s Digital Learning Day (#DLDay), USC Shoah Foundation will host a Facebook Live broadcast in English Language Arts teacher Lesly Culp’s classroom as her students complete an IWitness activity.
Watch live on Facebook to understand how teachers can incorporate survivor testimony into their curriculum and see firsthand how students increase their critical thinking and digital skills with testimony-based resources in IWitness. Join the broadcast and ask questions to Lelsy and her class in the comments section.
Watch the live broadcast starting around 11:30 a.m. PST.
Educators are also encouraged to explore 100 Days to Inspire Respect, USC Shoah Foundation’s initiative to release a new resource in IWitness every day from January 20-April 29, 2017, inspired by the first 100 days of the presidency. The resources include new multimedia activities, infographics about teaching with testimony for educators, testimony clips and connections videos, all focused on weekly themes such as Building Community, Defending Civil and Human Rights, and Responding to Racism.
