IWitness to be Presented at Inforum Conference on Professional Information Resources in Prague
Inforum gathers leaders in the field of information sciences to present new projects and tools and discuss the future of technology in academia, particularly in libraries, and education.
Šmok’s presentation “How to Use the IWitness Platform in a Czech School” is part of the conference’s session “Digital Humanities – Digitization in Aid to Research, Culture, Heritage and Education.”
Šmok will introduce USC Shoah Foundation and its mission and demonstrate the IWitness website and its educational resources, including its Czech language testimony clips and activities.
IWitness and Visual History Archive use is robust in Czech Republic. Šmok presented IWitness at the Czech Oral History Association Conference in February, and the Malach Centre for Visual History at Charles University celebrated its sixth year as a full access site of the Visual History Archive this year. Šmok regularly holds IWitness trainings for educators at schools around the country, including the Lauder Schools of Prague and the International School of Brno.
